The Ferris State University men's golf team is leading after the first day of the Midwest Region Preview in St. Joseph, Missouri. The Bulldogs completed the initial two rounds on Monday with a total score of 568, three strokes ahead of Missouri-St. Louis.
Ferris State's performance included an eight-over-par 292 in the first round and an eight-under-par 276 in the second round. The event is being held at St. Joseph Country Club with participation from 17 teams in this 54-hole competition.
Individually, Sam Havey and Kole Putnam are tied for second place with scores of three-under 139 each. Havey recorded a 71 in the first round and a 68 in the second, while Putnam shot a 73 followed by a 66. Both players are two shots behind Isaac To of Missouri S&T, who leads individually.
McCoy Biagioli is tied for tenth overall after shooting a combined score of 143 across both rounds, posting scores of 73 and 70 respectively. Zach Koerner is tied for twenty-fifth with scores of 75 and 72 for a total of 147 over the first two rounds.
Drayton Cleaver sits tied for thirty-sixth place with a total score of 149 after rounds of 77 and 72. Competing as an individual, Shayne Beaufait is currently tied for fifty-sixth place with scores of 79 and 73 totaling to a score of 152.
The final round will be played on Tuesday in St. Joseph.
