Ferris State trails by one shot entering final round at UIndy Fall Invite

The Ferris State University men's golf team performed strongly in the opening rounds of the UIndy Invitational at Broadmoor Country Club on Monday. The Bulldogs are currently in second place, just one shot behind Missouri S&T as they head into the final round.

The Bulldogs posted a score of -22 over the first two rounds, with a five-under 283 in the first round and a 17-under 271 in the second round. This gives them a total score of 554, trailing Missouri S&T by one stroke. Missouri St. Louis is close behind with a score of 555.

Drayton Cleaver led Ferris State individually, tying for third overall at eight-under through two rounds. He scored one-under 71 in the first round and seven-under par 65 in the second round, which was the lowest score for that round. Ashland's Matthew McMullen leads individually with an overall score of 132, followed by Daniel Solavera (134), Cleaver (136), and Connor Benjamin from Missouri S&T (136).

Zach Koerner is tied for fifth place with scores of two-under 70 and four-under 68, totaling 138 overall. Kole Putnam is tied for eighth after shooting three-under 69 and two-under 70 for a total of 139.

McCoy Biagioli finished day one tied for 24th place with scores of 73 and 70, totaling 143. Sam Havey is tied for 26th after scoring a combined total of 144 from rounds of 76 and then an improved score of 68.

Shayne Beaufait competed as an individual and is tied for 39th overall with scores of 74 and then a slight drop to a total score of149 over two rounds.

Final round play will commence on Tuesday at Broadmoor Country Club starting at nine o'clock Eastern Time.
