Ferris State men’s golf secures third place at Bulldog Fall Classic

On September 17, 2024, the Ferris State University men's golf team concluded its annual Bulldog Fall Classic with a third-place finish at FSU's Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids, Michigan. The Bulldogs recorded an eight-over-par score in the final 18 holes and finished +19 at 871 for the 54-hole event. Gannon secured first place with a score of 862, followed by Rockhurst (Mo.) at 868.

A total of ten teams participated in the two-day competition. Ferris State's top individual performer was McCoy Biagioli, who shot an even par 71 in the final round and tied for third overall with a total score of 212. He was only two strokes behind champion Elijah Shirley of Rockhurst, who scored a 210.

Drayton Cleaver posted a final round score of 73 and tied for 13th place with teammate Kole Putnam, who shot a 74 on the last day; both finished with scores of 219. Sam Havey carded a final round of 74 to tie for 23rd place at 221 over three rounds.

Alex Kaems tied for 39th place with a total score of 228 after shooting a final round of 73. Will Heavisides ended up in the 62nd position with a total score of 250 after an unfortunate last round score of 83.

Competing as individuals, Shayne Beaufait tied for the eighteenth spot with an overall score of 220, including a final round of 76. Zach Koerner also competed individually and tied for twenty-ninth place with an overall score of 222 after shooting a final round of 73.

The Bulldogs are scheduled to participate next in the UIndy Fall Invite on September 23-24 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
