Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's cross country teams hosted the 49th annual Ray Helsing Bulldog Invitational on Saturday at FSU's Katke Golf Course.
In the season-opening competition, the Bulldogs performed strongly in both the men's and women's races. FSU secured the top five positions and 12 of the top 13 overall in the women's 5,000 meters, with Hanna Brock winning in a time of 18:20.58.
In the men's 8,000-meter event, Ferris State finished with the top six runners overall and 11 of the top 12 in the field. A total of 12 current FSU runners placed among the top 15 in the race.
Ferris State will return to action on Sept. 13 at the Michigan State Spartan Invitational in East Lansing.
