Ferris State University has announced that the Scholler Private Wealth Group of Wells Fargo Advisors Men's Basketball Golf Outing, scheduled for Wednesday, July 24, at FSU's Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids, is officially sold out.

The four-person scramble, now in its 21st year, is one of the primary fundraising events for the men's basketball program. The 18-hole outing will begin with registration at 8:30 a.m., followed by a rules meeting at 9:45 a.m. and a shotgun start at 10 a.m.

For the past eleven years, more than 100 golfers have participated annually, with nearly 150 golfers taking part over the past nine years.

"This outing has propelled us to the NCAA Tournament eight of the past ten seasons and we look forward to seeing everyone at this golf outing," said FSU head coach Andy Bronkema. "The support we generate from this event is a huge boost to our program and our student-athletes trying to maintain and build on our championship success."

Bronkema added, "This event has become a planned day off and a mid-week tradition. The participation from everyone involved last year propelled us to a historic season with 28 wins, the GLIAC Tournament Championship and an NCAA Regional Championship. We look forward to all those slated to participate again this year and assist us in our efforts to return back to the D2 Elite Eight."

Ferris State's Katke Golf Course is recognized as one of the finest university-owned golf courses in the United States. Spanning over 6,847 yards and situated at Mecosta County's highest point, Katke contributes significantly to West Michigan's scenic landscape. It has won multiple Mecosta Country Peoples' Choice Awards for favorite golf range and favorite golf course in recent years.

Designed by Robert Beard, Katke Golf Course opened for public play in 1974 and has undergone significant renovations since 2004. It presents a challenging experience for players of all skill levels.

Ferris State achieved both the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament Championship and the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional title this past season. The Bulldogs concluded their season with a record of 28-8, tying for second-most wins in program history. They made their first trip to the D2 Elite Eight since winning their inaugural NCAA D2 National Championship in 2018. This year's appearance marked their third overall trip to the Elite Eight.
