415 coaches at institutions in Kent County earned $32,513 on average in 2022

Kent County’s 415 coaches earned an average salary of $32,513 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the 15th highest average salary per county earned by coaches at Michigan post-secondary schools during 2022.

Kent County is home to six post-secondary schools that paid coaches during 2022. Among them, Calvin University stood out with the highest average coaching salary of $43,154.

Male coaches of men's teams received $30,729 on average in Kent County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $28,579.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
