Kent County and surrounding areas have seen a large number of business burglaries this weekend and last weekend.  KCSO detectives and our law enforcement partners have been working on these cases ever since.  This past Friday, an alert Grand Rapids Police Department officer located two vehicles stolen out of the City of Grandville.  GRPD was able to apprehend four suspects and coordinate suspect interviews with KCSO and the Metro Pattern Crimes Task Force.  Three teenagers from Grand Rapids and one from Coopersville were arrested in connection with the break-ins, and possession of stolen credit cards, and stolen vehicles.

Just this weekend, KCSO had five more businesses throughout our community hit.  We are aware of other break-ins outside of Kent County and arrests made by the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office - Michigan.  We do believe that many of these incidents are connected and detectives are sorting through the cases to piece them together.

Message to the community:  Continue to remove valuables from your cars and lock your car doors.  For businesses: vape pens, cash, and cigarettes have been targeted all around Kent County.  Continue to report any suspicious activity, remember to put cash away, and ensure any alarms are active.
