Out of control inflation causes misery for the citizens of West Michigan as the economy of America crashes into the ditch thanks to the disastrous policies of Joe Biden and his dependable ally on Capitol Hill, Congressman Peter Meijer. Though Meijer poses as a conservative, he acts as a lackey “yes” vote on the very policies of Biden and Pelosi that create economic pain, especially in the form of skyrocketing overall prices. Recent terrible economic numbers prove this reality.
The national average price for a gallon of gasoline just rose to an 8-year record above $5.00/gallon. Things are even worse in Michigan, with gasoline averaging $5.14/gallon. For comparison, when Biden took office, a gallon of gas cost $2.37/gallon, per Department of Energy data.
Here’s the harsh political reality. We conservatives can complain all day long about Biden’s mistakes, including his assault of domestic energy production as well as his exorbitant spending and borrowing – and we should voice our intense displeasure!
But…we must also recognize that collaborator Republicans facilitate his inflationary madness. Without toady Republicans in the House and Senate, the cabal of Biden, Pelosi, and Schumer could never get these disastrous economic plans enacted.
Peter Meijer is just such a political weakling, a pretend conservative who clearly cares more about impressing Big Business and the Corporate Media than he does about serving the hard-working citizens of the Third Congressional District of Michigan.
How do we know? Well, for starters because Meijer was one of a minority of Republican Congressman who actually voted “yes” on Biden and Pelosi’s monstrous $1.5 trillion omnibus spending behemoth. The bill was almost 3,000 pages long, crafted by the staffs of Nancy Pelosi, AOC, and myriad lobbyists. Most House Republicans displayed enough common sense and principle to vote against this fiscal atrocity, but not Peter Meijer.
Meijer owns this inflation – and he is directly responsible for abandoning any semblance of fiscal conservativism in favor of pleasing his Beltway establishment cronies.
The national inflation crisis hits Michigan citizens especially hard. With inflation at 40-year highs. Michigan food pantries report surging demand as food prices soar at a 10.8% clip over last year, stretching the resources of charities like Feed America: West Michigan. That food bank reports that as “the cost of living is spiking…families across our service area are feeling the weight of this change.”
Small businesses suffer, too. One such business operates in Meijer’s district, RoMan Manufacturing near Grand Rapids, which produces industrial supplies including welding equipment. The company’s manager Nelson Sanchez rejected the constant Biden and media lie about inflation being just “transitory.” Sanchez remarked, “what are you talking about?” He continued: “Inflation is real and it’s squeezing out businesses…the numbers that are reported from the government … I think are understated from what people in our communities are actually feeling.”
Clearly Sanchez is not alone among citizens anxious about the price spikes. The University of Michigan’s survey of Consumers just hit the lowest level of confidence ever. That survey goes all the way back to the 1950s. Clearly, the inflation that Biden and Meijer induce – it attacks not just the wallets of Michigan, but also their spirits.
Instead of focusing on this dismal domestic situation, Meijer fixates on sending mountains of money overseas to escalate a regional war in Ukraine into an international crisis. Instead of targeting resources for hurting Americans in places like Battle Creek, Meijer gleefully joined hands with Schumer and Biden to spend a gargantuan $40 Billion to escalate a war in which America has no vital national security interest. Amazingly, Meijer takes the same stance as Pelosi in prioritizing funds to defend the eastern border of Ukraine when our very own southern border is wide open, here at home.
Meijer represents the perverse priorities of the permanent political class. Meijer remains more interested in the policy agenda of MSNBC than the people of Muskegon. The inflation inferno forms another foundational reason why Peter Meijer must be defeated in the August primary. President Trump-endorsed candidate John Gibbs will truly represent the people of the Third Congressional District.
