Kent ISD Ed Tech Consultant Sarah Wood has been honored with the Educator Excellence Award by Air Zoo Aerospace and Science Experience at their Michigan Aviation Hall of Fame and Science Innovation Hall of Fame Awards. This award recognizes educators who innovate, excel and show exceptional support of education in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM).

“As an educator, I thrive on serving others and celebrating the success of teachers and students in STEAM, technology use, computer science and design thinking. I take a creative, out-of-the-box approach and constantly look for inspiration from different sources using a culturally responsive approach to design learning experiences,” said Sarah Wood.

“We’re so proud of Sarah’s achievement and her service to educators, students and our community,” said Kent ISD superintendent Ron Koehler. “To receive such an award from Air Zoo is a great honor for Sarah and Kent ISD as we strive for excellence in education every day.”

Air Zoo recognizes educators who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in the use of technology and innovation to improve STEAM education. Air Zoo honored this year’s award winners during their 2022 Science Innovation Hall of Fame Awards on April 17 in Portage.
