Grand Rapids Public Schools issued the following announcement on Dec.22.
The City of Grand Rapids is putting on its first Teen Summit this coming March!
Every year for the past six years, the City has held the one-day Grand Rapids Neighborhood Summit covering all kinds of issues including transportation, housing, education and running thriving local businesses. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are provided, as well as infant and child care.
Our values are racial equity and resident voice.
In this spirit we would like to expand the Summit to include workshops for teens.
Tomorrow on Thursday, December 19, 2019, we will be having a Teen Summit brainstorming meeting at West Michigan Center for Arts & Technology (WMCAT). Your voice matters and Summit is a place where the adults in our city want to listen to you. We would love to hear your ideas on what would be great and interesting workshops and other activities you might like to do during the day. It will start at 5:30 and go for about an hour. Dinner will be provided! We will have pizza, pop, and snacks!
WMCAT is located at 614 1st Street NW near the Bridge Street Market. See you there!
