Grand Rapids Public Schools issued the following announcement on Oct. 22.
Lights on Afterschool is a nationwide event to celebrate afterschool programs across the country and the important role they play in the lives of children, families, and communities. The event will highlight afterschool programs and the resources required to keep their lights on and doors open.
The event will feature refreshments, a STEM project, and other fun activities. Come join afterschool providers, students, parents, community members, and elected officials in celebrating Grand Rapids Public Schools out-of-school-time programs!
