GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Congresswoman Hillary Scholten (MI-03) has announced a $5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) awarded to Friends of Grand Rapids Parks (FGRP). This funding will support the organization's efforts to cultivate urban green spaces and enhance parks in Grand Rapids.The grant will enable FGRP to plant nearly 16,000 new trees locally, create additional habitat, remove high-priority problem trees, and facilitate the planting of new trees.
