Ferris State University's men's golf team achieved a second-place finish at the Kentucky Wesleyan Fall Invitational, which concluded on Sunday at The Pearl Club in Owensboro, Kentucky. The Bulldogs recorded a two-round total of 580, trailing Missouri S&T by five strokes, who posted a 575 over the 36 holes. Ferris State shot consistent scores of 290 in both rounds.
The tournament featured 16 teams, with Southern Indiana securing third place with a score of 585, Maryville taking fourth with 588, and Parkside finishing fifth with a total of 590.
Caleb Bond from Ferris State received individual medalist honors by scoring a total of 140 through consecutive rounds of two-under-par 70 on the par-72 course spanning 6,816 yards. Bond's performance placed him one stroke ahead of Isaac To from Missouri S&T, who scored an overall 141.
Other notable performances from Ferris State included McCoy Biagioli's seventh-place tie with a total score of 144 after shooting one-under-par in the final round. Nathan Kraynyk ended with a score of 148 to tie for the twentieth position. Adam Arif Madzri and Zach Koerner both scored a total of 153 to tie for thirty-eighth place.
Kole Putnam competed as an individual and tied for seventy-third place with a total score of 167. The tournament was added late to Ferris State's schedule and marked the end of their fall season for the academic year. They are set to resume competition in March for the spring portion.
