Ferris State University has appointed Brody Keiser, an alumnus who graduated in May, as the new Athletics Communications Associate. Keiser will also serve as the radio and television voice for Ferris State Hockey, succeeding Harrison Watt, who relocated for a new career opportunity.
Rob Bentley, Ferris State Associate Athletics Director, announced the appointment. "I'm excited about working with Brody on an everyday basis and believe he'll be a tremendous addition to our staff in this role," said Bentley. He praised Keiser's work ethic and skills, emphasizing his potential impact on the department.
Keiser has previously worked as a color commentator for Bulldog Hockey and assisted with postgame press conferences and interviews. His responsibilities included serving as the primary media liaison during the women's soccer team's NCAA Division II Final Four run. Additionally, he coordinated sideline interviews and coverage for national championship football celebrations.
As part of his new role, Keiser will oversee communications student employees and contribute to FSU's video, multimedia, social media, and graphic design operations under Bentley's direction. "Harrison played a key role in many of our initiatives...but I believe Brody has the skill set and passion to grow into this role quickly," Bentley stated.
Keiser earned his bachelor's degree in sports communication from FSU with minors in multimedia journalism and sports science. During his time at FSU, he was active in sports communications programs and held leadership roles such as Vice President of the Sports Careers Club.
Before joining FSU Athletics Communications staff, Keiser was involved with the Ferris State Torch student newspaper as a sports reporter and editor. He gained experience managing events like poly hockey games and fundraising activities supporting local health initiatives.
Keiser began his duties at Ferris State University last week.
