Sweetheart Story: Alejandro & Solmeriz Hernandez 

The two of them met during Geometry class at Union High School, taught by Mr. Gulker. Alejandro was born and raised in Grand Rapids, while his future wife had just moved to the US from Venezuela to finish her 12th grade year before going to college. However, it was Alejandro's love and kindness that won her over 

Both of them graduated in 2002 and have been together ever since. In 2005, they exchanged vows and became husband and wife. They now have two beautiful children, a 14-year-old daughter named Isabell and a 9-year-old son named Caleb. The couple is proud to be alumni of both GRPS and GRCC. Their love story is a testament to the power of high school sweethearts
