The Michigan State men's tennis team spent the weekend playing in Tempe, Arizona for a spring break tournament at Arizona State.
Along with the Spartans, Penn State, Idaho, Texas Tech, Wichita State, Tulane and Princeton also competed in the tournament.
The tournament began on March 11 and concluded on March 13 with the Spartans defeating the Idaho Vandals 4-2 to wrap up the tournament at the Kiwanis Tennis Center.
"It was a great finish for the Spartans to close out spring break with a win over a tough Idaho team," head coach Gene Orlando said. "Overall it's been a great week of training and hard-fought matches."
The Spartans came back from a 1-0 hole after the Vandals secured the doubles point with victories at No. 1 and 3. They secured their victory with wins at four of six singles courts and zero losses. Each match won by MSU was earned in straight sets.
According to the university, the men’s tennis team will next play a doubleheader at the MSU Indoor Tennis Center in East Lansing against Xavier and Niagara on Friday, March 18 starting at noon.
