Andrew Curtis Williams, a 27-year-old from Westland, Michigan, has been sentenced to 110 months in federal prison for his involvement in the February 2020 armed robbery of Albion Hydroponics. During the crime, a gun was used to physically assault and restrain a store employee.
U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Michigan Mark Totten stated, “This crime was extremely dangerous. No one should fear violence while simply doing their job. These are serious crimes, and my office will continue working with our law enforcement partners to ensure offenders are held accountable and our communities are safe from violent crimes.”
Williams had previously pleaded guilty in August 2024 to charges related to the conspiracy to rob Albion Hydroponics on February 10, 2020. He also admitted to brandishing a firearm during the robbery.
His co-defendant, Kyle Lynn Carson, aged 28 from Jackson, was involved in striking the victim with a firearm during the incident. Carson has already pleaded guilty and received a sentence of 60 months in prison.
An unidentified third individual also participated in this robbery. Authorities urge anyone with information about this person to contact the Grand Rapids Office of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives at 616-301-6100.

Everyone deserves to feel safe as they try to provide for themselves and their families.” He added that Mr. Williams’ actions represent “the worst of the worst” in society and stressed that accountability is crucial.
The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives with Assistant U.S. Attorney Timothy VerHey handling prosecution duties.
