Ferris State cross country concludes fall season at NCAA regional championships

Ferris State University's cross country teams concluded their fall season at the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Championships on Saturday, November 4th. The event took place at Angel Mounds Cross Country Course in Evansville, Indiana, and was hosted by the Great Lakes Valley Conference along with the Evansville Sports Commission.

The women's team from Ferris State finished 12th overall in their division, accumulating a total of 375 points. The men's team placed 17th with 478 points. Both divisions saw participation from over 30 teams.

In the women's 6K race, junior Hanna Brock led Ferris State with a time of 21:45.3. She was followed by Daisy Englund in 70th place with a time of 22:07.8, Whitney Farrell in 76th with 22:13.3, Becci Castillo in 86th with a time of 22:28.5, and Danae Feldpausch who finished in 104th place clocking in at 22:45.2.

For the men's side, sophomore Cooper Sorsen was the top performer for Ferris State, finishing in 58th place on the 10K course with a time of 32:19.0. He was followed by Brendan Cairney who came in at 89th (33:02.8), Ryan Ososki at 92nd (33:06.4), Brandon Wirth placing 120th (33:38.2), and Noah Griffith ending up at 123rd (33:45.0).

This regional competition marks the end of the fall season for Ferris State's cross country teams as they now prepare for the upcoming winter indoor track and field season.
