A business consultant, who hosts a podcast, said that huddles help people connect to the business processes.
"It helps you connect to your business, it helps people connect to the business processes and it helps them connect you," said Ken Trupke during The Clarity Advisors Show.
According to PubMed, huddles have been implemented in the medical field to mitigate job errors and enhance the care of patients, however, its viability in a hospital setting is still being determined. Business and education has instituted the practice of huddling in the workplace in order to cultivate teamwork, raise efficiency and improve communication.
"The huddle is a powerful tool," Trupke said. "Ten minutes checked in tied tons of value."
The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) suggests that organizations can communicate general business updates through various channels, including small group huddles. This helps keep employees informed and up-to-date on the organization's latest news, policies and initiatives.
