Kent ISD recently issued the following announcement.
Need a little motivation on this November Monday? Never doubt that an educator can change the trajectory of a student's life.
Forest Hills Northern High School grad Brad Edwards recently won a National Edward R. Murrow Award in Writing from RTDNA calling the feat his "Everest" and "a quest that began with Mrs. Aguirre in ninth grade". He added, "She commanded we write in the active voice, and thoughtfully eliminate the feeble 'to be' verbs: am, is, are, was, were, be, being, been. By semester's end she said: 'Brad, you got it. Now that you know the rules, you can break them.' It changed my life; a word nerd's delight."
Congratulations to Brad! And, to all teachers, thank you for what you do.
