Wyoming City Schools recently issued the following announcement.
Join us for a season of scientific discoveries. Pollinator Detectives gives you the opportunity to engage in authentic science research from anywhere. Families with children can participate in this citizen science project and help the University of Cincinnati learn what plants are best at attracting pollinators. This data will help us better understand how to increase the pollinator population which is critical for our food supply.
The Pollinator Detectives is an introductory science activity for elementary and middle school students with an emphasis on developing science practices. The overarching goal of the activity is to promote fun while teaching kids the fundamentals of science research.
We would love to see families participating in the Pollinator Detectives. Please share photos or videos of you and your kids observing pollinators on social media by using #PollinatorDetectives.
By participating in the project, you will be entered into a raffle to win a prize. Check back for clues on what the exciting prizes will be. Winners will be announced on October 31!
Pollinator Detectives is a collaboration among the University of Cincinnati, Xavier University, Wyoming City Schools and Queen City Pollinator Project.
