Sinusitis, if left untreated, can cause serious complications such as vision loss, secondary infections, and loss of smell and/or taste; nevertheless, medical professionals claim that treatment for the condition is uncomplicated and efficient.

Sinusitis is a condition in which the spaces between the nose and head (sinuses) become swollen and inflamed for three months or longer, despite treatment; if the sinuses remain inflamed for more than three months, it is referred to as chronic sinusitis.

The most common symptoms of sinusitis include a yellow, green, or clear discharge from the nose and drainage down the back of the throat, as well as nasal blockage or congestion that makes breathing through the nose difficult.

It is recommended that an individual seek an appointment with their doctor if they've experienced these symptoms multiple times and the conditions don't respond to treatment, or the symptoms last for more than 10 days.
