In recent weeks, Democrats have criticized President Trump for his response to the coronavirus.
They are accusing the President of not taking the necessary actions or acting quick enough. However, despite minimal coverage from the mainstream media, President Trump has gone above and beyond the call in the battle against COVID-19.
As soon as we knew that the coronavirus was spreading throughout the world, President Trump restricted travel with China all the way back in January. At the time, Joe Biden called the move “hysterical xenophobia.” The president followed that with shutting down travel from where other breakouts were occurring like Iran and a majority of Europe. These travel restrictions saved hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of American lives.
In March, President Trump signed the CARES Act into law that is responsible for saving lives and protecting American jobs. Across the nation, 51 million jobs were protected thanks to the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) that President Trump created when he signed the CARES Act into law. If you need an example of what this president has accomplished in this fight against the coronavirus, look no further than Michigan.
In the Great Lake State alone, the PPP has protected 1.6 million jobs with more than $16 billion of loans being provided to more than 128,000 businesses, many of which were family owned and operated. And more than 5 million residents of the state received economic impact payments worth $8.5 billion to help them cope with the adverse effects of the virus.
When we look at how well Michigan’s economy is doing now, the state has already recovered more than a half million jobs over the last four months. This is the fastest economic recovery in our nation’s history, and it’s only happening because President Trump acted quickly and decisively when he realized the coronavirus posed a threat to the United States. From May until August, our nation has added 10.6 million jobs overall.
President Trump announced that part of his second-term agenda is to create 10 million jobs within 10 months. Considering he just accomplished that in four months, that’s a very achievable goal.
As we recover from the coronavirus pandemic over the next few months and into the next year, Michiganders need to vote for President Trump if we want our state to continue receiving the benefits we have now. President Trump has proven throughout this pandemic and over the course of the last four years that he has our Michigan’s interests in mind – he even moved his official residence here. President Trump loves Michigan, and it’s in our best interest to send him back to the White House this November.
