Rep. Lynn Afendoulis (R-Grand Rapids Township) wrote a Facebook post encouraging her constituents to sign a petition to “Stop Whitmer’s Extreme Agenda.”
In the post, she called out Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s actions and suggested that she was using the pandemic as a lead-in to a higher political office.
“Gov. Whitmer is using this crisis as a political steppingstone. She's digging in her heels on extreme measures, instead of adjusting strategies as we learn more about what works and what doesn't. If you agree that Whitmer is too extreme for Michigan, ADD YOUR NAME to our petition,” wrote Afendoulis in the Facebook post, with a link to the petition.
It appears the petition is paid for by Lynn Afendoulis for Congress.
Afendoulis has served the people of District 73 since 2019. Her district includes the City of East Grand Rapids, and the townships of Cannon, Nelson, Courtland, Oakfield, Plainfield, Spencer, and Grand Rapids Charter Township.
