Hillary Scholten, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Michigan’s 3rd District since 2023, has been vocal on various issues through her recent tweets. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in 1982 and an alumna of Gordon College and the University of Maryland, Baltimore, Scholten has emphasized civil rights, government operations, and women’s advocacy.

On March 7, 2025, Scholten reflected on the historical significance of the Edmund Pettus Bridge. She stated “It’s so powerful to march across the Edmund Pettus Bridge on the 60th Anniversary of Bloody Sunday.” Highlighting the importance of honoring civil rights legacies, she urged for continued efforts toward racial equality and justice.

Later that day, Scholten addressed potential federal fiscal issues with urgency.
