Congresswoman Hillary Scholten, who represents Michigan’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on social media between April 2 and April 3, 2026, addressing community celebrations, personal matters, and local charitable efforts.

On April 2, Scholten extended holiday greetings to her constituents, writing “Chag Sameach! Happy Passover to those celebrating!”

The following day, she informed her audience about a personal communication with her constituents: “Today I wrote this letter to my constituents on a family matter.” This message indicated that she had addressed a private issue directly with the people she represents.

Later on April 3, Scholten highlighted a significant act of local generosity: “West Michiganders are always showing up in moments of need. This 40,000-pound donation to local food pantries will make a real difference for families across our community.”

Hillary Scholten has served as the U.S. Representative for Michigan’s 3rd District since replacing Peter Meijer in 2023. She was born in Grand Rapids in 1982 and continues to reside there at age 41. Scholten graduated from Gordon College in 2004 and earned her law degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2011.
