Congresswoman Hillary Scholten, who represents Michigan’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, announced several updates on April 4, 2026, regarding economic development and constituent services in West Michigan.
In a post published at 16:30 UTC, Scholten highlighted an economic investment in Coopersville: “Big news for West Michigan. 150 new jobs and a $650 million investment in Coopersville will help strengthen our local economy and support working families.”
Later that day at 17:00 UTC, she addressed constituent concerns with federal agencies: “Is a federal agency giving you the runaround? Do you need help getting your Social Security, your tax return, or another federal benefit? My team and I are here to help. Please give us a call at (616) 451-8383 and we can help you like we helped Anita!”
At 17:15 UTC, Scholten commented on health care costs under the Affordable Care Act (ACA): “The Affordable Care Act made affordable health care a reality for millions of Americans. Now, hardworking Michiganders are paying more for their health insurance thanks to Republicans’ refusal to extend cost-saving ACA tax credits.”
Scholten has served as the U.S. Representative for Michigan’s 3rd District since replacing Peter Meijer in 2023. She was born in Grand Rapids in 1982 and continues to reside there. Scholten holds a BA from Gordon College and earned her JD from the University of Maryland, Baltimore.
