Congresswoman Hillary Scholten, who represents Michigan’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted several community initiatives and engagements through a series of posts on her social media account.

On March 9, 2026, Scholten announced the launch of her Congressional Dialogue Series aimed at addressing pressing local issues. She wrote, “Join me for the first installment of my Congressional Dialogue Series, a new space for real conversations about the issues that matter most to West Michigan. First up: discussing the skyrocketing costs of housing and what solutions can look like for our communities. March 12, https://t.co/QkM7CCTF6P” (March 9, 2026).

Later that day, Scholten recognized collective efforts in Grand Rapids to tackle homelessness. She posted, “This is what community looks like. More than 40 organizations in Grand Rapids have joined forces to address chronic homelessness, already helping 205 individuals connect with housing and support. Keep making West Michigan proud! https://t.co/Kk2ishL3op” (March 9, 2026).

In another update on March 9, Scholten commented on the importance of local journalism after meeting with regional broadcasters. She stated, “Local broadcasters play a vital role in keeping our communities informed. I appreciated the chance to meet with Michigan broadcasters and discuss the future of local media. https://t.co/4Ham49mHIJ” (March 9, 2026).

Hillary Scholten has served as the representative for Michigan’s 3rd District since replacing Peter Meijer in 2023. Born in Grand Rapids in 1982 and currently residing there, she has longstanding ties to the area she represents. Scholten graduated from Gordon College with a BA in 2004 and later earned her JD from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2011.
