Congresswoman Hillary Scholten, who represents Michigan’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, shared updates on legislative efforts and community initiatives in a series of posts on March 25, 2026.
In her first post at 19:30 UTC, Scholten highlighted recent legislative action: “Keeping our skies safe means keeping our systems up to date. This week, the House passed my bipartisan bill to modernize the aviation supply chain, crack down on counterfeit parts, and bring the FAA’s documentation into the digital age. West Michigan leads in aerospace”.
Shortly after, at 19:35 UTC, she addressed concerns over manufacturing support programs: “When we cut support for manufacturers, we’re cutting into American competitiveness. Programs like MMTC help our small businesses stay ahead, and pulling that funding puts jobs and innovation at risk here at home.”
Later that evening at 19:45 UTC, Scholten promoted an arts initiative for local students: “The deadline for the Congressional Art Competition is coming up fast! If you’re a student artist in West Michigan, I want to see your work. Submit your piece for a chance to have it displayed in the U.S. Capitol and represent our community.”
Hillary Scholten has served as a member of Congress since replacing Peter Meijer in 2023. She was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1982 and continues to reside there. Scholten holds a BA from Gordon College (2004) and earned her JD from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2011.
