Congresswoman Hillary Scholten, representing Michigan’s 3rd district, recently shared updates on her activities and engagements via social media. Her tweets covered a range of topics from healthcare funding to civil rights commemorations and local economic developments.

On March 7, 2025, Scholten expressed her commitment to supporting children’s hospitals through full funding for crucial programs. After meeting with Matthew Cook, CEO of @hospitals4kids, she emphasized the importance of pediatric care and cancer research funding. “Great to meet with CEO of @hospitals4kids, Matthew Cook, to reaffirm my support for fully funding the crucial programs that support our children’s hospitals. Our kids deserve top of the line care — and I won’t stop fighting for pediatric cancer research funding and so much more…”

Later that day, Scholten reflected on the significance of Bloody Sunday as she participated in its 60th-anniversary commemoration in Alabama. She noted the importance of remembering those who fought for racial equality alongside her colleagues. “This weekend marks the 60th Anniversary of Bloody Sunday, where hundreds were brutally attacked for standing up for racial equality. I’m in Alabama alongside colleagues to spend the weekend listening, learning, and remembering the activists who sacrificed so much for equality.”

In another post from March 7, Scholten celebrated economic progress within her district by attending the opening ceremony of a new water treatment facility in Grand Rapids. This facility is operated by Trojan Technologies, X-Rite, and Veralto and promises job creation while enhancing access to clean water. “In MI-03 earlier this week, I was proud to take part in Trojan Technologies, X-Rite, and Veralto’s opening of their FIRST U.S. water treatment facility in Grand Rapids! They’re creating good-paying jobs and improving access to clean water.”
