Later on the same day, Scholten released a critical assessment of President Trump’s performance during his initial tenure, marking it as a period characterized by disruption and negative impacts on West Michiganders. Her tweet read, ” 100 days of chaos. 100 days of harm. 100 days of turning his back on West Michiganders in favor of his billionaire buddies. Finally, on April 30, 2025, Scholten drew attention to economic concerns, highlighting that the economy had contracted during President Trump’s early administration days. She underscored the importance of responsible governance in her tweet, stating, “Unprecedented. The economy actually SHRANK in President Trump’s first 100 days. And he says he’s ‘just getting started’. We can’t afford it. I’m fighting for the fiscal and governmental reforms Americans want and doing it in a responsible, pro-growth manner.”

Scholten, 41, originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, has been a U.S. Congress member since 2023, representing Michigan’s 3rd district. She took office following Peter Meijer’s tenure.
