Congresswoman Hillary Scholten, who represents Michigan’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, addressed recent events and developments in her state through a series of posts on March 7, 2026.

In response to severe weather, Scholten posted: “My statement on the tornadoes that touched down in Michigan yesterday.” (March 7, 2026).

She also highlighted the role of women in construction and infrastructure, stating: “Women are playing an increasingly important role in construction and infrastructure. I was glad to speak with women leaders in the industry about strengthening the workforce and creating more opportunities in this critical field.” (March 7, 2026).

Addressing public safety improvements, Scholten wrote: “When emergencies happen, seconds matter. This investment in the Real Time Intelligence Center helps local agencies share information faster, respond more effectively, and keep families and first responders safe.” (March 7, 2026).

Hillary Scholten has served as a member of Congress since replacing Peter Meijer in 2023. She was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1982 and continues to reside there. Scholten holds a BA from Gordon College and a JD from the University of Maryland, Baltimore.
