Congresswoman Hillary Scholten, who has been representing Michigan’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress since 2023, has made a series of public statements on social media in late April 2025. Scholten, born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, continues to actively engage with her constituents on topics ranging from community support and environmental protection to local achievements.

On April 27, 2025, Scholten expressed her gratitude for the Black Impact Collective for organizing an Elder Conference, highlighting the adverse effects of federal funding cuts on seniors in West Michigan. She stated, “Grateful to the Black Impact Collective for hosting a powerful Elder Conference. Federal funding cuts have touched all corners of West Michigan, and our seniors are feeling the impacts firsthand. We cannot let that happen. Supporting our Black communities, including our”.

Later the same day, Scholten participated in an Earth Day Rally held by the League of Conservation Voters, emphasizing the importance of preserving the natural beauty of West Michigan. She reiterated her commitment to environmental conservation, stating, “From the shores of our Great Lakes to our beautiful natural parks, West Michigan has so much to offer, which is why we must fight to protect it. Glad to join @LCVoters’ Earth Day Rally in the fight to protect our environment. Thank you for having me!”.

On April 28, 2025, Scholten celebrated a local success story by congratulating Isaac, a fellow Unity Christian graduate and newly drafted player for the Detroit Lions. Indicating her support, she remarked, “Many congratulations are in order for a fellow Unity Christian graduate and now @Lions DRAFT PICK! Wishing nothing but success for you, Isaac, take our Lions all the way! “.

Hillary Scholten, now aged 41, has a strong educational background with a BA from Gordon College and a JD from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Her commitment to her hometown, Grand Rapids, Michigan, is a reflection of her continuous engagement with the community she serves.
