Ferris State women’s golf concludes season at NCAA D2 National Championships

The Ferris State University women’s golf team concluded their season at the 2025 NCAA Division II National Championships in Boulder City, Nevada. The Bulldogs finished 17th overall with a total score of 903 during the stroke play championships held at the Boulder Creek Golf Club.

The team opened with a score of 314 in the first round, improved to 285 in the second round, and ended with a 304 in the final round. Dallas Baptist secured first place with an overall score of 845, followed by Cal-State San Marcos with 850 and Flagler with 851. The top eight teams advanced to the medal match play quarterfinals.

Kylie Walker led Ferris State, finishing 55th overall with a score of 222. She recorded scores of 75, 71, and 76 across the three rounds. Lizzie Anderson tied for 70th place with a total of 224, highlighted by a second-round score of 70 after opening with an 80 and closing with a 74.

Kamryn Shannon tied for 80th at a total of 228, improving from an initial round of 83 to shoot a second-round score of 70 and concluding with a final round of 75. Ashley Thomasma tied for 84th place at an overall score of 230, starting with a first-round score of 76 followed by rounds of 74 and then closing out with an 80.

Susie Gietl finished in the tournament’s leaderboard at position number ninety-two scoring two hundred forty-two over three days: eighty-five on day one; seventy-eight on day two; seventy-nine on day three.

This marked Ferris State’s first appearance in the national finals since their last qualification sixteen years ago in two thousand nine—making it their tenth appearance in school history.
