Big Rapids, Mich. – The Ferris State University women’s golf team has been recognized for its academic achievements, ranking among the top squads in the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-Scholar Team GPA Award rankings. The Bulldogs placed 12th overall with a cumulative team grade point average of 3.805 for the 2024-25 year.

The WGCA announced its Division II top 25 squads, with Ferris State joining Davenport University as the only Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) schools to make the list.

Under head coach Sam Stark’s leadership, the Bulldogs had a successful season, finishing as runner-up in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships and securing a spot at the NCAA Division II National Championships for the first time since 2009.

The Women’s Golf Coaches Association is a non-profit organization founded in 1983 to represent women’s collegiate golf coaches. It aims to promote college golf for women while upholding high educational standards and intercollegiate competition traditions. Today, it represents over 750 coaches across the United States.
