The Ferris State University women’s golf team finished in 11th place at the Patriot Invitational, which took place on March 16 and 17 in Carmel, California.
The tournament marked the start of the Bulldogs’ spring season and was hosted by Dallas Baptist University at Quail Lodge Golf Club. Nine of the twelve teams competing were ranked among the top 43 nationally, with Ferris State holding the number 28 spot in recent rankings.
Ferris State posted a total score of 939 over three rounds, recording scores of 312 in both the first and third rounds and a 315 in round two. Senior Kamryn Shannon led the Bulldogs with a combined score of 224, tying for ninth place individually after shooting rounds of 74, 79, and a final-round 71. Lizzie Anderson tied for twelfth with a total score of 225, including an impressive second-round score of 70.
Other contributors included Ashley Thomasma, who placed fifty-seventh with a score of 246; Kylie Walker, who tied for sixtieth at 249; and Taylor Musselman, who tied for sixty-third with a total of 252. The team is part of NCAA Division II competition within the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference according to the official website.
