The Ferris State University women’s golf team finished in third place at the University of Missouri-St. Louis Spring Invitational, which concluded on April 13 at Northwood Hills Country Club in St. Louis, Missouri.
The result highlights a strong showing for the Bulldogs, who compete in NCAA Division II as part of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, according to the official website. The team posted a total score of 893 over three rounds with scores of 298, 300 and 295. Grand Valley State secured first place with an overall score of 875, while host UMSL finished second at 882 among a field of seventeen teams.
Kamryn Shannon led Ferris State individually by earning runner-up honors after shooting even-par for the event with a combined score of 213. She was only one shot behind the individual medalist and recorded rounds of 75, 72 and an impressive final round score of 66. Lizzie Anderson tied for twelfth overall with a total score of 224 after shooting rounds of 76 and two consecutive scores of 74.
Ashley Thomasma tied for twenty-first place with a total score of 227 following her opening round at par (71) and then two rounds scoring seventy-eight each. Kylie Walker shared twenty-fourth place with a three-round total of 229, while Taylor Musselman tied for forty-ninth overall at a combined score of 243 over fifty-four holes. Isabel Kelly competed as an individual and tied for thirty-ninth on the leaderboard after finishing with a total score of 237.
