The Ferris State University men’s golf team commenced their 2024-25 season by hosting the Bulldog Fall Classic at Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids, Michigan. After the first two rounds on Monday, September 16, the Bulldogs are positioned second overall, trailing Gannon by a single stroke with a total score of 579.

Ferris State recorded a one-over-par 285 in the opening round and followed it with a 10-over-par 294 in the second round. Gannon leads with a score of 578, while Rockhurst (Mo.) holds third place at 583. Parkside and Davenport are tied for fourth place with scores of 586 among ten competing teams.

Individually, McCoy Biagioli from Ferris State shares the top spot on the leaderboard alongside Mattia Parrini from Gannon and Peter Blazevic from Parkside, each scoring one-under after two rounds. Biagioli carded a one-under-par 70 in round one and an even par 71 in round two.

Shayne Beaufait is tied for eighth place with a total of two-over-par after shooting scores of 71 and 73 in rounds one and two respectively. Kole Putnam is tied for eleventh with scores of 72 and 73 leading to three-over-par.

Drayton Cleaver is tied for sixteenth position; he achieved a one-under-par score of 70 in his first round but slipped to a score of 76 in his second, totaling at four-over-par.

Sam Havey stands tied for twenty-fifth after posting scores of 73 and 74 across both rounds. Newcomer Alex Kaems scored rounds of 78 and 76 placing him forty-seventh overall.

Zach Koerner competed individually securing thirty-first position after scoring rounds of 76 and 73. Will Heavisides also played individually scoring rounds of 84 and 83 placing him sixty-third as they head into the final day.

The concluding round will be held on Tuesday starting at nine o’clock Eastern Time at Katke Golf Course.
