Ferris State track teams compete at Bill Clinger Classic

Ferris State University’s men’s and women’s track and field teams participated in the Bill Clinger Classic at Grand Valley State University in Allendale. The event featured schools from various levels across the region, including local institutions such as Grand Valley State, Wayne State, and Hillsdale.

In the women’s events, Rebecca Marvin excelled by winning the weight throw with a distance of 15.20 meters and secured ninth place in the shot put with 10.95 meters. Maddy Biller achieved second place in the shot put with a throw of 11.95 meters, while Daisy Englund finished third in the 800 meters clocking 2:16.25.

Hanna Brock placed seventh in the mile run with a time of 5:03.79, and Whitney Farrell came eighth in the 3,000 meters at 10:09.29. Freshman Allie Delost finished ninth in the 60 meters with a time of eight seconds flat, and Abigail Winkle also secured ninth place in the 400 meters with a time of 58.78 seconds. Biller additionally took ninth place in the weight throw reaching a distance of 13.89 meters.

The women’s team also placed ninth in the 4×400-meter relay; team members included Winkle, Nyah Tyron, Englund, and Oliviah Malloy who completed it in four minutes and eight seconds.

On the men’s side, Cooper Sorsen claimed victory in the men’s 3,000 meters finishing at 8:17.87 minutes.

Jaylin Townsend was runner-up in the men’s 60 meters with an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time of 6.75 seconds while Taariik Brett came sixth at a time of 6.96 seconds.

Hunter Richardson earned second place for his performance in shot put reaching a mark of 14.01 meters; Ben Przytula followed closely behind securing third position at13 .22meters . Devin Dennison took third place within invite field weight throw recording18 .11meters whereas Richardson captured fourth spot open section14 .24meters .

Freshman Hayden Josef achieved ninth position high jump height1 .89meters .

Bulldogs ranked seventh men’s4 x400 meter relay completing it three minutes twenty-five point thirty-seven seconds .

Looking ahead Ferris State will participate Jet’s Pizza Invite hosted Saginaw Valley University Center Friday January31st
