The Ferris State University men’s and women’s tennis teams played a pair of non-league matches against Augustana (South Dakota) on March 10 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida. The men’s team won their match with a 7-0 sweep, while the women’s team lost by a close 4-3 margin.
These results are part of both teams’ annual spring break trip to Florida, where they compete in neutral site contests. The men’s squad improved its overall record to 9-2 this season after winning all three doubles flights for the opening point and then capturing all six singles positions, five of which were decided in straight sets. The women’s team dropped to 6-4 overall after splitting the six singles flights but falling short when Augustana secured the doubles point.
