Ferris State tennis teams secure victories against Tiffin in regional matches

Big Rapids, Mich. – The Ferris State University men’s and women’s tennis teams achieved victories against Tiffin University in regional play at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center on Saturday, February 8th.

The women’s team secured a 5-2 win over Tiffin. Despite an early setback with Tiffin taking the doubles point, Ferris State bounced back by winning five of the six singles matches. Yara Madi and Aimee Reynoso managed a victory at the third doubles spot with a score of 6-4. In singles, Ana Sofia Hernandez Ferrer, Maria Fernanda Hernandez Ferrer, Aimee Reynoso, and Katherine Earnest all won in straight sets. Yara Madi also clinched a win in three sets. This victory improved the women’s team’s overall record to 3-0 this year.

On the men’s side, Ferris State emerged victorious with a narrow 4-3 win. The Bulldogs claimed the doubles point thanks to Alessandro Santangelo and Kacper Pasielak’s 6-3 win at two doubles and Milo Leuenberger and Adrian Catahan’s 7-6 win at three doubles. In singles play, Kevin Kovacs won his match in straight sets at one singles while Santangelo triumphed at two singles. Jose Andres Perez Alarcon added another win for Ferris State at the fourth flight.

Both teams are set to host Findlay for further regional action on Sunday, February 9th. The women’s match will begin at 10 a.m., followed by the men’s contest at 2 p.m.
