Ferris State softball to open home season against Wayne State on March 22

Ferris State University announced on March 20 that its women’s softball team will begin Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play and the home portion of its season on Sunday, March 22, by hosting Wayne State at the FSU Softball Field.

The opening doubleheader is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. Eastern Time for the first game, with the second game set for a 3 p.m. start, weather permitting. The university also reported that a previously postponed league doubleheader against Saginaw Valley State has been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 24, with games beginning at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Ferris State currently holds a record of 14 wins and 11 losses this year. The Bulldogs have won their last three games and five of their last seven overall.

The Ferris State Bulldogs women’s softball program takes part in both conference and non-conference games during its season, according to the official website. The program competes in NCAA Division II as part of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference according to the official website.

The team operates from Big Rapids, Michigan according to the official website, and supports student-athletes in balancing academic responsibilities with athletic commitments while contributing to the university’s athletic tradition according to the official website.
