The Ferris State University softball team lost two games to Grand Valley State University on March 29, ending their weekend action in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The games took place in Allendale and marked the end of a two-game league win streak for Ferris State.

In the first game, Grand Valley State won 7-4 after scoring five runs in the first inning and adding two more in the fourth. Ferris State managed eight hits compared to GVSU’s fourteen. Outfielders Ella McDonald and Ava Gardner, along with second baseman Jadyn Joseph, each recorded two hits for Ferris State. First baseman Alexis Kozlowski and Joseph both had two runs batted in, while Gardner and Joseph hit doubles during the game. Pitcher Katie Shuboy threw all six innings for Ferris State, allowing seven runs on fourteen hits with three strikeouts.
The second game saw GVSU secure a 6-0 victory by holding Ferris State scoreless. The Lakers had nine hits against six from Ferris State. McDonald led her team again with two hits. Cecelia Bell pitched two innings without giving up any earned runs on six hits; Addison Gillard followed with four innings pitched, allowing one earned run on three hits.
