The Ferris State University men’s tennis team participated in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Midwest Regional Championships over the weekend near Grand Rapids. The Bulldogs were among only four schools out of 23 competing institutions to advance four players in the top A singles draw, with all four earning a first-round victory. This included returner Kevin Kovacs, who secured an opening-round win against the #16 seed.

In the B singles draw, newcomer Adrian Catahan won three matches before being eliminated in round four. He also teamed up with Jose Perez to reach the B main doubles draw semifinals set for Monday.

Additionally, Milo Leuenberger advanced to the main draw singles final in the C draw. Pi Wellington progressed to the C draw consolation semifinals, and both will participate in the C draw main doubles final on Monday.

“It was a long two days of action, but it was a fun couple of days,” said FSU head coach Mark Doren. “As a team, we went into the weekend wanting to prove to the region that although we graduated our top four players, we were still a team that would contend with the best and that’s what we did.”
