The Ferris State University men’s golf team made a significant move up the leaderboard to finish third overall at the Ken Partridge Invitational. The tournament concluded on Tuesday at the Purgatory Golf Club in Noblesville, Indiana.

Beginning the three-day event on Sunday in a tie for 11th place, the Bulldogs advanced eight places, ending with a team score of 869 over 54 holes. Ferris State initially scored a 295 in the first round, improved to a 289 on Monday, and finished with a 285 on Tuesday. The invitational was hosted by the University of Indianapolis.

Missouri S&T won the event with a score of 859, and Wayne State finished second with 866. Ferris State narrowly edged out Grand Valley State, who scored a 870, to secure third place in a competitive field of 20 teams.

Kole Putnam led the Bulldogs, securing seventh overall with a total score of 213, completing rounds of 71, 70, and 72. Zach Koerner tied for 14th at 217, with scores of 74, 73, and 70. McCoy Biagioli finished tied for 19th at 218, with scores of 74, 73, and 71 over the three days. Drayton Cleaver tied for 56th, posting a 225, with rounds of 76, 73, and 76. Sam Havey tied for 87th with a total of 230, scoring 78, 80, and 72. Ben Miller, participating as an individual, tied for 61st with a total of 226, with scores of 74, 77, and 75.

The Bulldogs look ahead to the GLIAC Championships scheduled for April 18-20 in Augusta, Michigan.
