Ferris State golf teams complete at the FIndianapolis Invitational

The Ferris State University men’s and women’s golf teams participated in the FIndianapolis Invitational at Chariot Run Golf Club in Laconia, Indiana. The women’s team secured fourth place, and the men’s team finished in eighth position.

The women’s team achieved a total score of 929 over the three rounds, posting scores of 310, 309, and 310. Findlay took first place with a score of 882, followed by Missouri-St. Louis with 911 and Indianapolis with 920, ahead of the Ferris State team.

Kamryn Shannon led the Ferris State women, finishing 12th individually with scores of 78, 75, and 77, accumulating a total of 230. Kylie Walker and Ashley Thomasma followed, tied for 15th and 19th place respectively, with scores of 231 and 234. Lizzie Anderson tied for 26th with 241, while Taylor Musselman came in tied for 40th with 247.

The men’s team recorded a score of 298 in the opening round, followed by 296 and 293 in the subsequent rounds, totaling 887. Charleston (W.Va.) won the men’s event with a total score of 869, while Saginaw Valley State and Indianapolis tied for second with 876.

McCoy Biagioli was the leading performer for Ferris State in the men’s event, finishing 13th with a score of 218 after rounds of 77, 72, and 69. Sam Havey tied for 14th with a total score of 220, and Kole Putnam ended tied for 20th with 222. Zach Koerner scored 228, finishing in a tie for 38th, while Drayton Cleaver posted a total of 234, tied for 47th.

Next, the women’s team is set to compete in the NC4K Classic in Grove City, Ohio, on April 7-8, and the men’s team will participate in the Ken Partridge Invitational in Noblesville, Indiana, on April 6-7.
