Ferris State University’s cross country teams concluded their fall season at the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Championships held in Romeoville, Illinois. The women’s team secured 12th place with a total of 310 points among nearly 30 participating teams.
Senior Hanna Brock led the women’s squad, finishing 38th with a time of 22:25.61 on the 6K course. Junior Whitney Farrell followed closely, placing 44th with a time of 22:33.12. Other notable performances included junior Jessica Durkee in 61st place (23:05.33), senior Daisy Englund in 77th (23:17.53), and Melanea Strauss as the fifth finisher for Ferris State with a time of 23:33.80.
The men’s team finished in 17th place overall, accumulating 409 points. Cooper Sorsen led the Bulldog men by securing all-region honors with his performance, placing 25th in the 8K event with a time of 31:41.90, marking it as the ninth-best showing in school history.
Other contributors to the men’s team included Ben Knuth in 76th place (32:41.53), Noah Griffith at 101st (33:07.77), Gavin Vansolkema at 103rd (33:10.47), and Ryan Ososki finishing just behind him at 104th (33:10.80).
