Ferris State University’s Devin Dennison has been invited to participate in the 2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The sophomore thrower from Alma will compete in the men’s hammer throw event, scheduled for May 22-24 in Pueblo, Colorado.

The NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Committee announced the participants for this year’s championships. Athletes qualified by meeting a provisional standard set for each event. The top 22 declared student-athletes were accepted into individual events, while the top 16 relay teams and multi-event athletes also secured spots.

Colorado State University Pueblo will host the championships at the CSU Pueblo Thunderbowl, with live streaming available on NCAA.com.

Dennison ranks 20th nationally in the hammer throw heading into the competition. His event is set for Thursday, May 22, at 5:30 pm (CT).

Earlier this season, Dennison achieved runner-up status in the hammer throw at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Outdoor Championships held on May 1-2 in Allendale. He recorded a qualifying throw of 193-6, marking Ferris State’s fourth-best all-time effort. Additionally, he placed third in discus with a throw of 159-1, earning All-GLIAC honors in both events.

Dennison’s performance contributed to Ferris State’s men’s and women’s teams achieving their best overall results at the league championships in nearly two decades.
