Ferris State University sophomore Devin Dennison participated in the 2025 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships, securing 18th place in the hammer throw event. The competition took place on May 22 in Pueblo, Colorado.

Dennison’s qualification for the national championships was based on a best toss of 57.39 meters (188-3), marking his debut at the national finals. The NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Committee had previously announced participants who met provisional standards set for each event. For individual events, the top 22 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition.

The championships were hosted by Colorado State University Pueblo at the CSU Pueblo Thunderbowl.

Earlier this season, Dennison achieved runner-up status in the hammer throw at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Outdoor Championships held on May 1-2 in Allendale. There, he recorded a NCAA qualifying throw of 193-6, which stands as Ferris State’s fourth-best all-time effort. Additionally, Dennison earned third place in the discus with a throw of 159-1 at the conference meet, gaining All-GLIAC honors in both categories.

His performance contributed to Ferris State Bulldogs’ men’s and women’s teams achieving their best overall result at the league championships in nearly twenty years.
