Congresswoman Hillary Scholten, representing Michigan’s 3rd district since 2023, has been actively engaging with her constituents through social media. Her recent posts highlight both local community support and broader political concerns.

On June 20, 2025, Scholten expressed her support for the West Michigan Whitecaps, a minor league baseball team, by congratulating them on clinching a playoff spot. She stated: “Congrats to our @wmwhitecaps for clinching a playoff spot! We’ll be rooting for you the whole way, go knock it out of the park! “

The following day, June 21, she addressed educational issues by emphasizing the importance of supporting institutions like the Boston Square Early Learning Center. Scholten noted that such centers are crucial during times when education systems face challenges. She remarked: “At a time when our education system is under attack, supporting institutions like Boston Square Early Learning Center are more important than ever. This Center will bring in children from every background, including refugee children…”

Later that same day, Scholten voiced her opposition to a provision in the “Big Beautiful Bill” proposed by Senate Republicans. The provision allows for the sale of three million acres of public land across Western states. Scholten urged public action against this measure by stating: “Republicans in the Senate have slipped a provision into the ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ to be able to sell off 3 million acres of public land across Western states (for now). Our public lands are not for sale!”

Hillary Scholten was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1982 and currently resides there. She graduated from Gordon College with a BA in 2004 and earned her JD from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2011.
